Jesus lifts His eyes to heaven in His great high priestly prayer. He prays for His own glorification through the cross, that He may give eternal life: “that they know you the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.” He prays for His disciples, that the Father would keep them, sanctify them in the truth, and guard them from the evil one, and for all who will believe through their word, that they may all be one, as He and the Father are one, and finally be with Him to see His glory.
