Jesus continues to prepare His disciples for His departure and their coming persecution, promising that it is to their advantage that He go, for He will send the Helper, who will convict the world and guide them into all truth, glorifying Christ. Their sorrow at His death will turn to joy at His resurrection, like a mother’s after childbirth. He assures them of the Father’s love and direct access in prayer, ending, “Take heart; I have overcome the world.”
