The strong are to bear with the failings of the weak, following Christ, who did not please Himself. Paul prays for unity so that with one voice they may glorify God, and shows how Christ came to confirm God’s promises to the Jews and to bring the Gentiles to praise Him, fulfilling Scripture. He then describes his ambition to preach where Christ has not been named, his plan to visit Rome on the way to Spain, and his request for prayer as he carries a gift to the poor saints in Jerusalem.
