Paul addresses disputes between the “weak” and the “strong” over matters like food and special days. Each is to be fully convinced in his own mind and to act in faith and for the Lord, without despising or passing judgment on a brother, for each will give account to God. The strong must not use their liberty to make a weaker brother stumble, for “the kingdom of God is... righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,” and we should pursue what makes for peace and mutual upbuilding.
