After a night of failure, Peter obeys Jesus’ word and takes a miraculous catch of fish, then leaves everything to follow Him, along with James and John. Jesus cleanses a leper and, forgiving and healing a paralytic lowered through the roof, shows His authority to forgive sins. He calls Levi the tax collector and feasts with sinners, declaring, “I have not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance,” and speaks of new wine and fresh wineskins.
