In Egypt Jeremiah delivers his last recorded prophecy, rebuking the Jews for resuming their idolatry, especially the worship of the “queen of heaven.” The people brazenly insist they were better off when they served her, and Jeremiah declares that this stubborn remnant will be consumed in Egypt, with only a few escaping.
