Rejecting God’s word as a lie, the leaders accuse Jeremiah of being influenced by Baruch and defiantly lead the whole remnant, Jeremiah included, down to Egypt. There Jeremiah performs a sign, burying stones to mark where Nebuchadnezzar will one day set his throne, for even Egypt will fall to Babylon.
