Isaiah opens with the LORD’s courtroom charge against Judah, a rebellious people more senseless than an ox that knows its owner, whose empty worship He cannot bear while their hands are full of blood. Yet He calls them to reason together, offering astonishing cleansing (“though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow”) and promising to purge and restore His city.
