A vast coalition of Moab, Ammon, and others marches against Judah, and Jehoshaphat proclaims a fast and leads the nation in a magnificent prayer: “we do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” God answers through a Levite, “the battle is not yours but God’s.” Judah goes out singing praises, and the LORD sets ambushes so the enemies destroy one another; Judah gathers the spoil for three days and returns rejoicing.
