The LORD appears to Solomon a second time, promising to establish his throne forever if he walks faithfully as David did, but warning that if Israel turns to other gods, He will cut them off from the land and make the temple a heap of ruins. The chapter also records Solomon’s building projects, his labor force, his navy at Ezion-geber, and the wealth flowing in from Ophir.
