Song of Solomon study chapter

Song of Solomon 4

c. 960 BCThe beloved praises the bride’s beauty and calls her a locked garden, a sealed fountain, wholly his.

The beloved sings an extended, admiring praise of the bride’s beauty from head to foot, declaring, “You are altogether beautiful, my love; there is no flaw in you.” He calls her “a garden locked... a fountain sealed,” honoring the exclusive faithfulness of her love, and the chapter moves toward the joyful consummation of their marriage, an intimacy welcomed as good.
