The summit of the letter. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,” for what the law could not do, God did by sending His Son. Those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the Spirit and have life and peace; the Spirit dwells in them, gives life, leads them, and bears witness that they are God’s children and heirs with Christ. Present sufferings are not worth comparing with the coming glory, and God works all things for good to those who love Him, whom He foreknew, predestined, called, justified, and glorified. Paul ends in triumph: nothing “will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Romans 8
c. AD 57No condemnation in Christ; life in the Spirit, adoption as sons, and the certainty that nothing can separate us from God’s love.
