Proverbs 17

relationships and restraintThe value of peace, a friend who loves at all times, and restraining the tongue.

The sayings commend peace over strife (“better is a dry morsel with quiet than a house full of feasting with strife”) and value a true friend who “loves at all times.” They warn against repaying good with evil and praise the restraint of words: “whoever restrains his words has knowledge.”
