After listing the priests and Levites across the generations, the chapter describes the joyful dedication of the wall. Two great thanksgiving choirs, with musicians and instruments, march in opposite directions atop the wall to meet at the temple, and the people offer great sacrifices and rejoice with a gladness heard far away, “for God had made them rejoice with great joy.” The worship and provision of the house of God are set in order.
