The sermon closes with warnings and calls to genuine discipleship: do not judge hypocritically, ask and it will be given, and do to others as you would have them do to you. Jesus commands His hearers to enter by the narrow gate, to beware false prophets known by their fruits, and to be not merely hearers who say “Lord, Lord” but doers of His words, like a wise man who builds his house on the rock. The crowds are astonished, for He teaches with authority.
