Led by the Spirit into the wilderness, Jesus is tempted by the devil and answers each temptation with Scripture, succeeding where Israel failed. He then begins His public ministry in Galilee, preaching repentance and the nearness of the kingdom, and calls His first disciples (Peter, Andrew, James, and John) to leave their nets and follow Him. He goes throughout Galilee teaching, preaching, and healing every disease, and great crowds gather.
