Jesus teaches His disciples about greatness in the kingdom: they must humble themselves like little children, and must not cause “these little ones” to stumble. He tells of the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one straying sheep, gives instruction for restoring a sinning brother and for the church’s discipline, and, in the parable of the unforgiving servant, presses the necessity of forgiving from the heart as we have been forgiven.
