On the first day of the week, the women come to the tomb with spices and find the stone rolled away. A young man in white tells them, “He has risen; he is not here,” and sends them to tell the disciples and Peter that Jesus goes before them to Galilee. The Gospel’s ending proclaims the risen Christ, who commissions His followers to “go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation,” and who works with them as they go.
