- Chapter 1 (c. 445 BC): God declares His covenant love for Israel and rebukes the priests for despising His name with blemished, polluted sacrifices.
- Chapter 2 (c. 445 BC): God warns the faithless priests and condemns the people’s treachery in intermarriage and divorce, and their wearying of God.
- Chapter 3 (c. 445 BC): The messenger who prepares the way, the refining Lord who comes to His temple, the charge of robbing God in tithes, and the book of remembrance.
- Chapter 4 (c. 445 BC): The day burning like an oven, the sun of righteousness rising with healing, and the promise of Elijah before the great day of the LORD.
