For six days Israel marches once around silent Jericho behind the ark; on the seventh they circle it seven times, the priests blow the trumpets, the people shout, and the walls fall flat. The city is devoted to the LORD and destroyed, but Rahab and all her house are brought out safely and dwell in Israel. Joshua pronounces a curse on any who would rebuild Jericho.
