The oracle against Babylon continues, describing the certain and complete destruction of the proud city that made the earth drunk, avenged for what she did to Zion. Jeremiah has the scroll of these words read in Babylon and then tied to a stone and thrown into the Euphrates, a sign that Babylon will sink and rise no more.
