Jeremiah is told to bury a linen loincloth by the Euphrates and later retrieve it ruined, a sign of how Judah’s pride will be spoiled. The LORD warns the king and queen mother to humble themselves before darkness falls, asking whether the leopard can change its spots, nor can a people accustomed to evil do good.
