The LORD affirms His power to save and rebukes Israel’s unbelief, then the Servant speaks: taught by God morning by morning, He is obedient even in suffering, giving His back to those who strike Him and not hiding His face from shame and spitting. Setting His face “like a flint,” He trusts that the LORD will vindicate Him, and He calls those in darkness to trust in the name of the LORD.
