God speaks words of redeeming love to Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine,” promising to be with them through waters and fire. He declares Himself their only Savior (“besides me there is no savior”) who will do a “new thing,” make a way in the wilderness, and blot out their transgressions for His own sake.
