Hezekiah falls mortally ill, and Isaiah tells him to set his house in order, but the king weeps and prays, and the LORD grants him fifteen more years, confirmed by the sign of the sun’s shadow moving backward. Hezekiah writes a psalm of thanksgiving, recounting his brush with death and rejoicing that God has cast all his sins behind His back.
