Hezekiah goes to the temple in sackcloth and sends to Isaiah, who promises that the LORD will make Sennacherib withdraw. When a threatening letter comes, Hezekiah spreads it before the LORD and prays that God would save them so all the earth may know He alone is God; that night the angel of the LORD strikes 185,000 Assyrians, and Sennacherib returns home to be killed by his own sons.
