The climax of the vision arrives: the glory of the LORD, which had departed to the east, returns “from the east” and enters the temple, filling the house, and God declares, “this is the place of my throne... where I will dwell in the midst of the people of Israel forever.” He calls the people to put away their sins and gives the design and dedication of the altar.
