Ezekiel prophesies against the wicked leaders who give evil counsel, and one of them drops dead as he speaks. Yet God promises that though scattered, the exiles will be gathered, cleansed of their detestable idols, and given “one heart” and “a new spirit,” a heart of flesh instead of stone. The glory of the LORD then departs from the city to the mountain to the east.
