On the second journey, Paul takes Timothy, and the Spirit redirects them to Macedonia through a vision. At Philippi, Lydia the seller of purple believes and is baptized; Paul casts a spirit out of a slave girl, and he and Silas are beaten and jailed. At midnight, as they sing hymns, an earthquake opens the prison, and the terrified jailer asks, “What must I do to be saved?” They answer, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household,” and he and his family believe and are baptized with joy.
