Solomon blesses the assembly and rehearses how God chose David and now his son to build the temple. Then, kneeling before the altar, he prays his great dedication prayer, marveling that God would dwell with man on earth, and asking that God hear from heaven whenever His people, or even a foreigner, pray toward this house, and forgive and restore them, even when exiled, if they repent and turn back.
