Solomon, established on the throne, worships at Gibeon, where God offers him whatever he asks. Solomon requests wisdom and knowledge to govern God’s great people, and the LORD, pleased that he did not ask for wealth or the death of his enemies, grants him unmatched wisdom along with riches and honor. His reign of splendor begins, with horses, chariots, and gold in abundance.
