David, marching out with the Philistine army against Israel, is spared an impossible dilemma when the other Philistine commanders object, distrusting the Hebrew who might turn on them in battle. Achish reluctantly sends David back to Ziklag, and so God keeps David from having to fight against his own people on the eve of Saul’s fall.
