In the four hundred and eightieth year after the exodus, Solomon begins the temple. The chapter details its dimensions, its cedar-lined and gold-overlaid interior, the inner sanctuary for the ark, and the carved cherubim, palm trees, and flowers. The LORD promises that if Solomon walks in His statutes, He will dwell among the people of Israel; the house is finished in seven years.
