1 Chronicles study chapter

1 Chronicles 25

c. 971 BCThe temple musicians of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun are set in their courses.

David and the commanders set apart the temple musicians (the sons of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun) to prophesy with lyres, harps, and cymbals, giving thanks and praising the LORD. They too are divided by lot into twenty-four courses, “small and great, teacher and pupil alike,” so that skilled, God-centered worship in song is woven permanently into the life of the house of God.
